Written by Winfield, Old Man of PaxLair.PaxLair has created a new arena for the public of Sosaria and citizens of PaxLair. The building was newly constructed and is available for people to test its utility. It is located in the Old North Tower behind Lugi's Pizzeria. The third (Trophy Hall) and fourth (Arena) floors are public, while other floors are for PaxLair citizens. Also featured is a Public Waterfall.
While PaxLair still boasts a public arena behind the Twin Towers, this new arena has more security. The Audience Box is isolated from the Arena in ways that spells and melee combat will not strike the public, nor can the public strike the arena fighters. Also, the Fighter Entry is a separate entrance from the audience, thus enabling PaxLair officials to manage which fighters enter the arena for tournaments. The audience box is constructed for maximum visibility, while giving the first priority to maximum space for the fighters in the arena.
During non-tournament hours, the arena fighters and audience may mingle, as the doors to these areas are open to all from the first floor public entry. However, doors in the arena fourth floor are somewhat restricted to avoid audience members from interfering with the fighters and vice versa (one must go to the first floor to enter the audience box or arena itself through the fighter entry).
The first floor of the building has the Public Entry into the Arena, Audience Box, and Trophy Hall. It contains open doors and restricted doors (used during tournaments).
The public enter through the single public entry door on the south of the building. Spectators will normally go straight into the Audience/Trophy Room Entry room where there are two teleporters; one leads to the audience box, and another leads to the third floor Trophy Room. These two teleporters allow spectators and fans to quickly go from the audience box to the Trophy Room without stepping outside or interfering with the tournaments.The fighters enter, normally, through the east door from the Welcome Room. This door is usually unlocked, meaning anyone can enter the arena. However, it will be locked during organized tournaments.
For organized tournaments, there is a private back door in the Audience/Trophy Room Entry leading into the restricted area that can be used to in-process fighters; this requires the aid of PaxLair citizens. Once in-processed, a back door to the Fighter Entry Room is used to allow fighters into the arena (during tournaments, the public Fighter Entry door is locked).
The Trophy Room on the third floor is a lounge, meeting hall, and trophy case for tournament trophies. It is currently being decorated and may soon be adorned with battle trophies of the valiant fighters of the Realm.
We in PaxLair remember our heritage and will never forget the sacrifices of those people who aided PaxLair over the years. The original arena still stands as a testiment to many who have built things here, fought here, and sought to enrich our community. The old arena is always open to the public and remains as one of the earliest structures in this meadow.
